Case Studies : ESG
Novacare
We worked with aged care provider Novacare to develop the delivery model and back-end systems for their Hunter-based Cycling Without Age initiative. This important initiative links closely to SDG 3 (Good Health and Wellbeing), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequality) and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).
Cycling Without Age [Hunter] provides a community service to people in the Hunter region of NSW by connecting elderly people and those less-abled with their community and the outdoors by giving them free rides on trishaw ebikes, piloted by volunteer cyclists. The success of the program can be directly measured against key SDG targets and indicators and clearly demonstrates Novacare’s commitment to social sustainability
Resources client
A major resources company we work with is committed to ensuring sustainability and ESG initiatives not only reflect core values but drive long-term value for their stakeholders, including customers, community employees, partners and shareholders. SD Strategies worked with a cross-disciplinary team to develop Responsible Sourcing Principles (RSP). The RSP reflects the company’s commitment to doing business in line with internationally recognised principles on environmental management, human rights, and business integrity.
The RSP reflects their commitment to sustainability and aligns to the company’s seven sustainability pillars and associated Sustainable Development Goals. The RSP outlines expectations it has of its suppliers against each of the sustainability pillars and against the company’s policies, codes, and values.
Port of Newcastle
Port of Newcastle (PON) is committed to driving ESG principles throughout its operations, internal culture and the way it engages with customers and communities.
SD Strategies developed a suite of interactive ESG eLearning modules to engage and educate internal staff on the Port’s ESG Strategy and initiatives.
Topics included: Introduction to ESG; Diversity and Inclusion; Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); Modern Slavery; Climate Change; Net Zero Pathway and Fraud and Corruption. Modules were designed to engage PONs workforce and empower them to act on ESG risks and opportunities.
