Supporting Your Suppliers to Manage Modern Slavery Risks

For many Australian companies, modern slavery risk is predominantly a supply chain risk. And while contract clauses, Codes of Conduct and supplier audits, are important components of a supplier due diligence response, training and educating suppliers will ensure a higher level of understanding of both the ‘what’ and the ‘why’ of modern slavery risk management.

Training suppliers in modern slavery risk management empowers them to identify, mitigate, and prevent practices that contribute to human exploitation within their operations and supply chains. Suppliers are the first point of contact with workers in your supply chain, and without proper awareness and understanding, they may unknowingly engage in or facilitate conditions that lead to forced labour or other human rights impacts.

To help with this, we’ve developed a concise, 12-minute training course for supplier that offers practical insights into:

  • Recognising the signs of modern slavery and worker exploitation

  • Implementing ethical labour practices

  • Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements

We acknowledge receipt of this good information and are honoured to have been designated to participate in this training on modern slavery. Although we do our best to respect the rights of our employees, we hope your training will strengthen our capacity in this area.
Thank you for the sensitization on this very important matter. I have completed the course. It was very informative.
